Firoz Kurbanhusein

Down in Zaveri Bazaar, things are always moving fast. We are located at No. 42/44 Sutar Chawl, right on the ground floor. It’s a tight space, like most places in this part of the city, but it works for what we do. Being Firoz Kurbanhusein, we've seen the bazaar change a lot over the years, though the noise stays the same. There are always people shouting, carts rattling over the stones, and the constant hum of the market. We spend our days tucked inside, dealing with whatever comes through the door. The lighting isn't always the best, and we have to use desk lamps to see the finer details of our work. Since we are on the ground floor, we get a lot of dust from the street, so we are always wiping down the counters. It’s not a glamorous job, but it’s what we know. We know most of the other shopkeepers around Sutar Chawl by name. We usually eat our lunch quickly at the back because there’s always something to finish. The hours are long, and the bazaar never seems to sleep, but being right in the middle of Zaveri Bazaar feels right. We just keep our heads down, handle the daily business, and make sure everything is locked up tight before we head home through the crowded alleys.
