Susheel Wankhedkar

My name is Susheel Wankhedkar. I run my operations out of Building No 24/A16 in the N N P C Co complex in Goregaon East. It’s a residential area mostly. My office is just a converted room in the building. It’s nothing special to look at. I have a desk and a few chairs for when people come over. The building has been here for years. You can see the wear on the stairs. I don’t mind the commute because I’m already here. It gets a bit hot in the afternoons during the summer. I usually keep the window open for a breeze. The neighbors are quiet enough. I spend most of my day at the computer or on the phone. Sometimes I have to go out to meet people, but mostly I am right here. The files are stacked on the shelf behind me. It looks a bit disorganized but I have my own system. It works for me. I don’t have a secretary or a big staff. It’s just me. I handle everything from the mail to the actual work. It’s a simple way to live. I’ve been in Goregaon for a long time. I like the pace here. It’s not as crazy as downtown. People know me in the building. We say hello in the hallway. That’s basically how it is. Just a local person doing my job. I usually finish up around six and then head out for a walk. The area is pretty quiet at night which is nice.
