Super Natural Handmade Expressions

Super Natural Handmade Expressions is up on the 9th floor of the UDYAN 2 building, right off Marol Military Road in Andheri East. Being in Andheri means we deal with the usual Mumbai traffic and the humidity, but up here at 904, it’s a bit more peaceful. We spend our days surrounded by natural materials and handmade items that we’re getting ready to send out. There’s always a faint smell of whatever we’re working with, maybe wood or some kind of natural fibers. The office is a bit of a mess with craft supplies and half-finished projects sitting on the desks. We have a small staff and we all end up doing a bit of everything, from answering the phone to packing the actual boxes for shipping. The view from the ninth floor is actually not too bad; you can see a lot of the city and the planes coming in sometimes. Marol is a busy place with a lot of other businesses around, so there’s always something going on downstairs. We usually start the morning with a cup of tea and a quick talk about what needs to get done before the courier arrives in the evening. It’s a lot of manual work, checking the quality of each piece to make sure it looks right. We don't use big machines or anything like that, just our hands and some basic tools. It’s a slow process but we enjoy the routine of it.
