Styne Electronics is tucked away in the Bombay Talkies Compound in Malad West. It’s an old area with a lot of history, and you can see it in the buildings. Our unit is 35-A, part 10. It’s not the easiest place to find if you’re visiting for the first time, but we like it here. There’s a certain character to this compound that you don’t find in newer tech parks. Inside, it’s mostly just us, some work tables, and a lot of wires and components scattered around. We do a lot of manual work here. It’s a hands-on kind of business where we’re often leaning over a bench for hours. The lighting could probably be better, but it works for what we do. We’ve had the same neighbors for years, so it feels like a small community. You can hear the sounds of the city outside, but once we get started on a project, we don't notice it much. We don't spend money on fancy signage or big promotions. We just handle the electronics work that comes our way. Sometimes it’s busy, sometimes it’s a bit slower, but there’s always something to tinker with. It’s a simple operation, run by people who just like working with their hands and getting the job done without any fuss. We usually just close up when the work is finished and head home to avoid the worst of the Malad traffic. It’s a decent way to earn a living in this part of town.
