Stone Crafts

Our office is at 203 in the Godrej Coliseum, which is right there on Somaiya Hospital Road. Being so close to the Eastern Express Highway means we hear the hum of the cars all day long, but you sort of stop noticing it after a while. It’s a big, modern building, but our specific unit feels a bit more like a workshop than a corporate suite. We deal with stone and crafts, so there’s always a bit of dust on the ledges no matter how much we clean. We have samples of different materials spread out on the tables so we can look at them in the natural light. It’s a hands-on kind of job. We spend a lot of time on the phone or looking at drawings, trying to figure out the best way to get a project finished. The walk from the parking lot can be a bit long when it’s raining, but the building is sturdy. We usually bring our lunch from home and eat together at the big table in the back. There’s no big hierarchy here; we all just pitch in where it's needed. Sometimes things get a bit hectic when a big delivery is expected, and we have to clear space in the middle of the room. It’s a practical environment where the focus is on the materials we work with. We’ve been in this location for a bit now and it suits our needs perfectly without being over the top.
