Sterlite Industries India Ltd

Operating out of C-202 in Maheshwari Nagar, right in the MIDC area of Andheri East, is pretty intense. Sterlite Industries India Ltd has been in this industrial pocket for a while. If you know Mumbai, you know how busy MIDC gets. There are trucks everywhere and the roads are always a bit torn up. Our office is in a building that’s seen a lot of use. The elevator is one of those old ones with the manual gate that sometimes gets stuck on the third floor. Inside, it’s just a standard workspace with fluorescent lights and rows of desks. It’s not a place for lounging around. We have a lot of work to get through and the atmosphere reflects that. It’s gray and practical. We get a lot of dust from the construction nearby, so we’re always wiping down our keyboards. Despite the chaos outside, we’ve got a good rhythm going. We eat lunch together at our desks or go to the small canteen downstairs if we have time. There’s no view of the ocean or anything nice like that, just other office buildings and the Metro line in the distance. It’s a very Mumbai way to work, fast-paced and a bit crowded. We don’t have a marketing team or a polished front desk. It’s just us, some computers, and a lot of work to finish before the commute home. We just try to stay focused amidst all the city noise.
