Sterling Bags

Sterling Bags is located at Gala No.40 in the Dinbandu Society, right inside the Sai Krupa Industrial Estate on PL Lokhande Marg in Chembur. It’s a busy industrial pocket. If you come by, you’ll hear the sound of sewing machines running almost all day. We make bags of all sorts. It started as a small idea and just grew as we found more space in this gala. The room is usually filled with rolls of fabric, thread, and finished products stacked up waiting to be picked up. There’s a constant smell of new material and maybe some tea from the shop downstairs. We have a small group of workers who are really good with their hands. It’s not a fancy showroom. We have a couple of desks for the paperwork, but most of the space is for the actual work. Chembur is a bit of a maze, and finding our specific gate can be tricky for newcomers, but once you’re inside, it’s all business. We don't have a big corporate team; it’s mostly just the owner and the staff who have been here for years. We deal with zippers, straps, and canvas all day long. Sometimes the machines jam, or we run out of a specific color of thread, and we have to scramble. It’s real work, and it’s often tiring, but seeing the finished bags makes it worth it. We just keep our heads down and get the stitching done correctly.
