Over in Kandivli West, specifically at the Govt. Ind. Estate in Charkopnaka, you’ll find our lab. Sri Gopal Krishna Labs Pvt. Ltd. takes up 38A-B, and it’s a bit different from the other workshops around here. While the neighbors are clanging metal, we are mostly dealing with glass vials and testing equipment. It’s a bit of a trek to get here if the traffic is bad, which it usually is in this part of Mumbai during the rush hour. The lab isn't a giant facility like you see in movies. It’s a practical space where we run our tests and keep our records. We spend a lot of time wearing white coats and looking at data on old monitors. The air smells a bit like chemicals and floor cleaner, which is just part of the job we’ve chosen. We have some heavy-duty fridges and a lot of shelves filled with samples that need to be processed. It’s not a glamorous life, and the paperwork can get a bit overwhelming sometimes, but we keep a steady pace. Most of the staff has been here for years, so we’ve developed a rhythm that works for us. We don't have a fancy lobby with a receptionist. If you come by, one of the technicians will probably have to step away from their bench to see what you need. It’s just a working lab doing its thing day after day.
