Our office is in Jogeshwari West, specifically Lily Annex, Building 6. We are in G-9, which is right behind Hotel Mina International on S.V. Road. It’s a busy neighborhood, always something going on outside. Inside, it’s a bit of a different story. We deal with magazines and directories, so there are stacks of paper and books everywhere. It’s a bit of a maze between the desks. We have computers and printers going all day long. It isn't a silent workplace; there’s always someone on the phone or talking about a layout. We focus on technical and industrial news. It’s a lot of proofreading and checking facts. We drink a lot of tea to stay focused. Our team is small, mostly people who have been in the publishing game for a long time. We don't have a fancy lobby. People just walk in and see us working. S.V. Road is always loud with traffic, so we keep the windows shut most of the time. It gets a bit cramped when a new shipment of directories arrives and we have to box them up for mailing. But that’s just how it is in a Mumbai office. We get the work done and get the issues out on time. It’s a lot of coordination and making sure the details are right. The internet goes down once in a while, and everyone just sits around looking at the paper until it comes back. It’s a bit chaotic, but we know where everything is. The delivery guys are always in a rush, so we keep the labels ready. It’s just the daily grind of a media company.
