Spectrum Lights

If you’re looking for Spectrum Lights, we are in Shop No. 1 at Makhija Chambers on Turner Road. We are right across from the H.P. petrol pump in Bandra West, so it’s easy to find us if you’re stuck in that famous Bandra traffic. The shop is quite bright, which I guess you would expect from a place selling lights. We have all sorts of fixtures hanging from the ceiling and piled up on the counters. It’s a bit of a jumble sometimes because every time we get a new shipment, we have to find space for it. We spend a lot of time testing bulbs and showing people how different switches work. It’s a small shop, so when there are more than three customers inside, it starts to feel very full. We get all kinds of people coming in—some know exactly what they want and others just stare at the ceiling for twenty minutes. We don't have a fancy sales pitch. We just tell people what works and what doesn't. Sometimes we have to climb up on shaky ladders to reach something on the top shelf, which is always an adventure. Turner Road is always busy, so there’s a lot of noise from the street coming through the open door. It’s just us here most days, wiping fingerprints off the glass and trying to keep the displays looking halfway decent while we help out whoever walks in.
