S.V. Road is always a mess of traffic and noise, but that’s Mumbai for you. We are up in the Dheeraj Heritage Building, room 212. Slimlites Electricals Pvt.Ltd. has been operating out of this space for years. The building itself is one of those landmarks people use to give directions. Inside 212, it’s a bit cramped. We have boxes everywhere and desks that are pushed close together. But it’s a good kind of busy. You can hear the muffled sound of the street from the windows. We don't have a professional cleaning crew that comes in every night, so there’s a bit of dust on the high shelves. We don't mind. We are more focused on the work at hand. Sometimes the elevator in Dheeraj Heritage takes forever, so we end up taking the stairs. It’s a lively building with all sorts of businesses. We know the people in the next office and say hello in the hallway. Our team is small, and we’ve worked together long enough to know each other’s habits. We don't use a lot of corporate talk here. It’s just "did you finish that?" or "where’s the invoice?". 212 is our little corner on S.V. Road. It’s not perfect, but it’s where we get things done every single day. We like the energy of the area and the people who walk through our door.
