Slang Lights

You can find us over at the Hindustan Mill Compound on Babu Genu Road. We're on the ground floor, which makes it easier for moving boxes in and out. Being at 33/39 means we've got a bit of space, but it’s mostly filled with lighting stuff. The compound has been around for ages, and it feels like it. There’s a lot of history in these old mill buildings. We spend most of our time sorting through the inventory. It's not the cleanest place in the world, but it works for what we do. The lighting business is mostly just about knowing what fits where. We don't spend money on fancy desks or decorations. The walls could probably use a new coat of paint, but we’re usually too busy to worry about that. When people come by, they usually see us with a list or a clipboard. It’s noisy outside with the trucks and all the commerce happening on the street. Sometimes the rain makes the compound a bit messy, but that’s just how it is in this part of town. We’ve got a small team here. We know each other well and just get on with the tasks. It isn’t anything like those corporate offices you see in movies. It’s just a ground-floor unit where we handle the lights and try to stay organized. Most of the day is just routine work and occasional breaks for tea. We just keep moving forward.
