Sky light doors

If you walk down Ayyappanagar in Kandivali West, you will find our spot at 44/1. We deal with doors mostly, hence the name Sky light doors. It is a bit of a messy workspace with wood shavings on the floor and the smell of varnish in the air almost every day. We spend a lot of time measuring frames and making sure the hinges line up right because nobody likes a door that creaks or sticks when it rains. It is not some high-end showroom where everything is polished to a shine. We have stacks of wood and different door designs leaning against the walls. Some are plain for backrooms and others have more work done on them for the main entrance of a house. Most of the guys here have been working with their hands for a long time, so they know how to handle the tools without thinking about it much. We get a lot of people coming in asking about glass inserts or what kind of wood lasts the longest in this humidity. We just tell them what we know from experience. The street outside is usually busy with people going to work, and we are just here doing our thing with the saws and the sandpaper. It is steady work. We finish one order, load it onto the small truck, and then start on the next one that came in that morning. There is always plenty of work to do around here.
