If you have ever been to Masjid Bunder, you know how incredibly busy it gets around Bhat Bazar. Our office, Siya Clearing & Forwarding, is right in the thick of it on Narshi Natha Street. We are located on the third floor of New Anant Bhavan at 303. This whole area is basically the heart of moving goods in Mumbai. We spend our days handling the clearing and forwarding side of things, which means we are the ones making sure cargo actually moves through the ports. It involves a lot of physical running around and talking to people. The streets downstairs are always jammed with handcarts and trucks, so there is never a quiet moment. We have stacks of paper on almost every desk because the documentation for customs is endless. It is definitely not a quiet or calm office. We are constantly on the phone with drivers and people at the warehouses. We’ve been operating from this exact spot for a long time, so we know the local systems and the people involved quite well. We don't use any fancy language to describe our business. We just help people get their goods from the port to the warehouse without getting caught up in all the red tape. It is hard work and the hours are often long, especially when there is a big backlog at the docks. We have a simple setup and a group of people who understand how the trade works here in Chinch Bunder.
