Our spot is Plot No. 101 on Mumbai Samachar Marg, right in the thick of the Main Market. If you know where the Samachar Bus Stand is, you basically know where we are. It’s a hectic area, but that’s Mumbai for you. At Siti Gear India, we deal with exactly what the name suggests. Gears are what keep the world turning, even if most people never see them. Our space is usually filled with the sound of the market outside and the clinking of metal inside. We handle a lot of different sizes and types of gear components. It’s a bit of a maze in here sometimes with all the stock we keep on hand. People come by looking for very specific parts for their machinery, and we do our best to find what they need in the piles. We don’t really do fancy marketing or have a big sales team. It’s mostly just us answering the phone and talking to the walk-ins who’ve been coming to this market for years. The location is great because everything is right there, though parking can be a real headache. We’ve seen the neighborhood change quite a bit over the years, but our little corner remains pretty much the same. We just show up, do the work, and head home. It’s a simple life focused on mechanical parts and making sure we stay organized enough to find them when a customer asks.
