Our spot is at 54/C in Chotani Estate, located on Proctor Road in Grant Road East. It’s one of those industrial estates in Mumbai that has been there for a long time. It’s not a pretty place, just lots of concrete and heavy doors. We work with silica and glassware, the kind of things that need a lot of heat to make. The workshop area can get pretty warm, and there’s usually a bit of a smell from the processes we use. We aren't a big corporate office with air conditioning everywhere. Most of us are just in our work clothes, moving crates around and checking the glass for cracks. It’s fragile stuff, so we have to be careful, though accidents do happen sometimes. The estate is always busy with deliveries and people moving stuff in and out. We get our tea from a guy who comes around on a cycle. It’s a very local way of doing things. We don't have a fancy logo or a big mission statement on the wall. We just focus on making the items and getting them shipped out to the people who need them. Most of our customers are industrial folks who have known us for a long time. It’s a bit of a hidden place if you don't know where to look, but we’ve been here long enough that we feel part of the furniture. We keep the machines running and the glass moving. It’s just what we do every day.
