Shri Durga Battery Auto Parts

Shri Durga Battery Auto Parts is located in Chembur on Cambridge Road. We are in Prakash Kunj, Shop Number 4 on the ground floor. It’s easy to find because there are usually a couple of cars or bikes parked out front with their hoods up. The shop is full of heavy lead batteries and racks of spare parts. It’s a messy place, to be honest. There is oil on the floor and grease on all the door handles. I’ve been working with engines and batteries for a long time now, so my hands are usually stained black by noon. We don't have a fancy waiting area; customers usually just stand around and talk to us about the weather or politics while we work. Chembur is a busy area, so there is always someone needing a jump start or a new fan belt. We have a lot of regular taxi drivers who come to us because they know we won't charge them for things they don't need. The shop is small, so we have to store the extra stock in a loft area that we built ourselves. Climbing up there is the worst part of the day. We have an old radio that plays cricket matches during the season. It’s loud and dirty work, but it’s what we do for a living. We stay open until the sun goes down and then some. People need their vehicles running to get to work, so we stay until the job is done.
