If you find yourself on Nanubhai Desai Road in Khetwadi, you’ll see our place at number 135. It is a crowded part of town, and the noise from the street usually makes it into our office throughout the day. Shree Dhootapapeshwar Ltd. has been operating out of this spot for a long time. It isn't a modern glass building or anything like that. It’s more of a practical space where we keep our files and handle the daily chores of running the business. Most mornings are spent going through the mail or talking to the people who drop by with deliveries. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but we are usually too busy with the actual work to worry about that. We have some old desks and chairs that have been with us for years. There’s a rhythm to the day here, from the first cup of tea to the time we pull the shutters down in the evening. Khetwadi is full of energy, and being right here at 135 means we are part of that mix. We don’t spend much time on fancy talk or trying to impress anyone who walks in. We just handle the tasks as they come, whether it’s paperwork or checking on our inventory in the back. It’s just how we do things every day. We mostly just keep to ourselves and focus on getting the orders out on time without making any fuss about it. The tea guy comes by at four, which is usually the highlight of the afternoon.
