We are located in Meena Apartment at 29/31 Dhanji Street. This is Shilpi Jewellers Private Limited. Like most businesses in this part of the city, we’ve been around this neighborhood for a long time. Dhanji Street is always full of activity, and our spot in Meena Apartment is right in the thick of it. It’s not a huge space, just enough for us to display what we have and for a few people to stand around and talk. We don’t have any of those big glossy brochures or anything like that. We just show people what we have in the safe or on the counters. Sometimes the lights flicker a bit when the load is high in the building, but we just get on with it. It’s a family business at its core. I spend most of my day sitting here, answering the phone and checking the accounts. We get a lot of walk-ins because of the location, but many of our visitors are people we’ve known for twenty years. They come in not just to buy things but to catch up on the news in the market. It can get quite hot in the summer months, but we have a small fan that helps. We don’t try to be anything we aren’t. It’s just a regular jewelry shop where we try to keep things honest and simple for everyone who comes in.
