Shayam Motors

We’ve been here at Shayam Motors for quite a while now. Our shop sits right on Dr Ambedkar Road in Lal Baug, specifically at 132/140. If you know the area, you know how busy it gets with the traffic and people moving around all day. It’s a lot of noise but we got used to it. Mostly we deal with engine stuff and making sure cars actually run right. It’s greasy work, honestly. My hands are almost always dirty by lunchtime. We don’t have fancy waiting rooms with coffee machines or anything like that. People just drop their vehicles off and we tell them when to come back. Sometimes parts take a day or two to arrive, which can be annoying for everyone, but that’s just how it goes sometimes. We try to keep things simple. Most of the folks who come in are from around the neighborhood or people who work nearby. We’ve seen the same faces for years. It’s not a huge operation, just a few of us here doing the mechanical work every morning. Lal Baug has changed a lot since we started, but the road is still just as packed. We open up early because that’s when people want to drop their cars before heading to work. It gets hot in the afternoons, so we usually take a short break when the sun is right overhead. It’s just a normal garage doing normal work for regular people. We aren't trying to be anything fancy, just local mechanics who know their way around a car.
