Shapoorji Paloonji & Co

Our location is over in Ghatkopar West, right in the heart of Ramnagar. We are in the Anthoni Chowl, which is part of the Janjira Society. Specifically, we are in Room No. 712/7. If you have ever been to a Mumbai chowl, you know exactly what it is like. It is busy, it is loud, and there is always someone talking in the hallway or moving buckets. Shapoorji Paloonji & Co uses this room as a base for our local operations. It is not a very big space, so we have to be very organized with how we store our equipment and our files. We have a small window that looks out over the society courtyard. You can see the kids playing and the neighbors hanging out their laundry every morning. It feels very much like being part of a community rather than just being in an office. We have a few desks and some stools for when people come to talk. We do our work, talk to the foremen who come by, and try to keep up with the endless stream of documents. The air is always thick with the smell of cooking from the nearby rooms, which makes us hungry before lunchtime even arrives. It is a very real, very human place to work. We don't have a fancy corporate culture here. We just have a small team trying to get through the day's tasks in a crowded city. It is honest and it is ours, even if it is a bit cramped.
