Shapoorji Pallonji & Co. Ltd.

Working out of Plot No 10 in the Mhada Layout here in Mumbai is always an experience. Shapoorji Pallonji & Co. Ltd. is the name on the door, but inside, it feels like any other busy office trying to keep up with this city. There’s always noise outside and someone is usually brewing tea in the corner. We spend our hours looking at site plans and dealing with the municipal paperwork that comes with building in Maharashtra. It’s not a quiet place. Phones ring constantly and there’s always a stack of documents waiting for a signature. We don't have fancy furniture or a big lobby. It’s more about the practical stuff, like where the next truck is going or how the weather is going to affect the pouring. The guys here have been doing this for years, so there’s a lot of talk about old projects and how things used to be. You get used to the rhythm of the layout. Finding us can be a bit tricky if you aren't from around here, but once you see the gate, you'll know. We keep things pretty simple. No one wears a suit unless they really have to. We are just trying to get the work done right and move on to the next task on the list. It’s a lot of coordination, some stress, and plenty of coffee to keep us going through the afternoons.
