Shanti Industries (India)

Our place, Shanti Industries, is located at Shanti Sadan in Goregaon West. We’re right there in Motilal Nagar No. 1, near the post office and just across from Trimurty Store. It’s a very local spot. People use the store as a landmark to find us. We’ve been operating out of this building for a long time. It’s an old-school way of doing business. We make things, we sell them, and we talk to our neighbors. The area is always crowded, especially near the post office, so there’s a lot of noise and movement. Inside Shanti Sadan, it’s a bit more focused. We have our machines and our materials laid out. It’s not the most modern factory you’ll ever see, but it works for us. We handle a lot of metalwork and industrial components for various clients. Every day is different depending on what orders came in the day before. Sometimes we’re short on hands and everyone has to pitch in with the lifting, even with the cleaning. We don't use much fancy technology, just the tools that have served us well over the years. If someone comes by looking for us, they usually just ask at the store across the street. We like it that way. It’s a real community vibe while we handle the industrial side of things. It's just a regular workshop where we spend most of our waking hours getting things made.
