Our place is at No. 303 Turf Estate, which is on the third floor. You have to take Dr. E. Moses Road to get here in Mahalaxmi West. Being a busy part of the city, the traffic outside is often a total mess. All the packaging work happens right in this unit. It isn't a very large space, but we somehow fit the machinery and the tables where the guys work. Boxes stay stacked up almost to the ceiling most days. Cramped is how it feels when a big order comes in. Having been here for a while now, the neighbors in the estate mostly know us. The lift in the building works most of the time, which is lucky because carrying rolls of plastic or heavy cardboard up to the third floor by stairs would be impossible. Every morning we just come in, check the orders, and start the machines. No air conditioning exists in the main work area, just some big fans to keep the air moving. It gets loud during the day, but that is just how it is. We keep our heads down and try to finish everything by evening. Usually, the floor is covered in scrap bits of tape and paper by five o'clock. After a quick clean, we do it all again the next day. This is just a regular workspace where we get things done. It might not be the most modern office in Mumbai, but it serves us well.
