We are over in Ambernath East, at Venktesa Nivas, Plot No. 354 in the Kansai Section. Ashish M. Mistry runs the place here for Shalina Laboratories. Ambernath is a bit of a trek from the main part of Mumbai, but it’s a solid place to be for a lab. The building is a regular structure in a residential-cum-commercial patch. We don't have any big signs or neon lights. Inside, it’s mostly about the work we do with the lab stuff. It's a clean space, obviously, but it doesn't look like those fancy research centers you see on TV. We’ve got our equipment and our records all laid out. The Kansai Section is pretty busy during the day, with lots of people heading to the station. We’ve been here for quite some time now. Most of us take the local train to get here, which is an experience in itself. We don't use a lot of big words to describe what we do. We just handle the pharmaceutical and lab side of the business. Sometimes the neighbors come by to ask for help with something small, and we do what we can. It’s a friendly atmosphere. We eat our lunch in the small gallery area when the weather is nice. We aren't trying to be the biggest company, we just want to get the products right. It keeps us busy and the days go by fast.
