We have been running our tyre shop at the Panchsheel Shopping Centre in Andheri East for a good while now. Most people find us because we are right opposite Takshila, which is a busy spot with plenty of cars passing by every day. The shop itself is nothing special to look at. We have stacks of tyres reaching the ceiling and the floor usually has some black marks from the rubber and the jacks we use. It gets quite hot in the afternoons, so we usually have a small fan blowing while we work on the wheels. We handle everything from simple punctures to changing out a whole set of tyres for trucks and smaller cars. We didn’t start this with some big plan, we just knew how to fix things and noticed there weren't enough shops around here. Some of our regulars have been coming to us for years and they usually stay for a chat while we finish the work. We don't bother with fancy ads or brochures. If the job is done right, people come back, and that is how we’ve kept going. The noise from the main road is always there, but we are used to it by now. Sometimes the work is slow and we just sit outside, but usually, there is someone pulling in with a nail in their tyre or a spare that needs air. It’s just honest, greasy work every day.
