Our company, Shahi Trading Pvt. Ltd., is located at a-15 in the Ghatkopar industrial estate. If you’ve ever been to Ghatkopar West, you know the area is usually packed with people and vehicles. Our place is basically a big warehouse with a small office area tucked into one side. We do trading, which really just means we spend our days moving a lot of boxes in and out. It can be a real struggle with the narrow lanes in the estate when the delivery trucks try to park. We spend a lot of our time checking the inventory lists and making sure the counts are right. It’s definitely not a glamorous job. There is usually quite a bit of dust from the cardboard boxes and the constant sound of packing tape. We have a small crew and most of us have worked here for a long time. We know our regulars and what they usually expect from us. We don't have a website with professional photos or any of that. Most of our business happens over the phone or when people just drop by to see what we have in stock. The office is a bit crowded because we use almost every inch for storing goods. We keep a small kettle for making tea and that’s about it for extras. We just try to stay on top of the orders so nothing gets delayed. It’s honest, steady work.
