Shah Textile Engineers. Our workshop is in Room No 12 on the 1st Floor of the Jai Bhara building in Khar West. To get here, you have to go down Janak Pure Street No 1. We are situated right behind the Masjid. It’s a bit of a walk up the stairs, and the hallway can be a little dark sometimes. We work on textile engineering parts. It is a niche kind of thing, mostly dealing with gears and components for weaving or spinning. The room is small and packed with drawers full of tiny screws and metal bits. We’ve been in this specific room for a long time. The view out the window isn't much, just the back of other buildings, but we spend most of our time looking at the work on the bench anyway. Khar West is a lively neighborhood, and being near the Masjid means there is always a lot of activity around. We aren't a big firm with hundreds of employees. It is just a few of us who know how these machines work. Sometimes the parts are hard to find, so we have to go through our old stock to see what we can do. It’s a quiet life, mostly, interrupted by the sound of the street below. We don’t do any marketing, people just know we are here in Room 12. Sometimes the stairs feel a bit steeper at the end of a long day, but we've gotten used to it over the years. We just keep our heads down and work.
