Our place is located inside the Ved Enterprises compound on Walbhat Road. We are in unit 13-A/1, which is part of the larger Cama Industrial Estate. Goregaon East is a very busy part of the city and the traffic on Walbhat Road can be really slow and frustrating in the evenings when everyone is trying to get home. We share the compound space with a few other small businesses, so there are always people moving about and trucks backing in. We make various products here and the workshop is always full of raw materials and half-finished items. The Sant Rohidas Nagar area has a lot of these small industrial setups crammed together. Inside our unit, it’s a bit cramped because we try to fit as much production as possible into the limited floor space we have. We have some old workbenches and tools that we’ve used for many years and they still do the job. It’s certainly not a polished or clean environment by any means. There are oil stains on the walls and the floor is cracked in a few places, but it’s where we do our hard work every day. We usually have a small radio playing some music in the background to keep everyone's spirits up. When we have a big order to finish, we all stay late and order some hot food from the place down the street. It’s just how we work.
