Seina Unani Dawakhana

You can find Seina Unani Dawakhana over at 331/333 E R Road. We are situated in Masjid Bunder West, right near the Pydhonie Police Station. That’s a landmark everyone knows, so it makes us pretty easy to locate. The area is always humming with people and carts moving goods around. It’s a very old part of the city. Our space is filled with the smell of different herbs and traditional preparations. We spend a lot of the day measuring things out and talking to people who come in. It’s a slow, steady kind of work. The building itself has been around for a long time and has that old Mumbai feel to it. Sometimes the dust from the road gets in, so we spend a lot of time cleaning the glass jars. It’s not a modern clinic with bright lights; it’s more of a traditional setup. We have a few wooden benches for people to sit on while they wait. Being so close to the police station means it’s a safe enough spot, though the traffic on E R Road is almost always blocked up. We just take things one person at a time. There’s no rush here, really. We just follow the old ways of doing things. The regulars know us well. We’ve been part of this street for quite a while now and we don't plan on moving anytime soon.
