This branch is located in the Samta Complex over in Malad West, right in the middle of the Mhada area. If you know Mumbai, you know how crowded it gets around here. Our office is in the Malwani Sai Kripa society, which is a busy residential spot. We spend most of our time dealing with the constant noise and the rush of the city. The space we have is practical—desks, some chairs, and a lot of logbooks. We aren't here to look important; we are here because there are hundreds of lifts in this part of Mumbai that need regular attention. During the monsoon, things get pretty messy with the rain, but the work doesn't stop. The technicians are always coming in soaked or tired from the commute. We try to keep the atmosphere light because the job can be stressful when things break down unexpectedly. We don’t have fancy slogans or a big reception area. It’s just us sitting in a housing society office, making sure the schedules are met. Sometimes we run out of chai, which is a bigger problem than most people realize. We know the local roads well and try to get to the sites as fast as the traffic allows. It’s a grind, but it’s our grind. We’ve been part of this Malad community for a while now and just keep doing what we do.
