S.B.Panchal & Co. is tucked away in the Gogani Industrial Estate on Senapati Bapat Road. We are at unit number 8, and honestly, if you’ve ever been to this part of Mumbai, you know how busy it gets. The industrial estate is one of those places where there's always the sound of something being worked on. We’ve been in this spot for quite a long time now. It’s a practical space, mostly filled with tools and whatever projects we have going on at the moment. We don't have a reception desk or anything like that because we spend most of our time actually doing the work. Senapati Bapat Road is usually a crawl during rush hour, so most of us try to get in early before the noise really picks up. The workshop has that smell of oil and metal that never really goes away, no matter how much you clean. It’s just how it is when you’re doing this kind of work. We handle various engineering tasks and manufacturing bits. It’s a small team, and we’ve all known each other for years, which makes the days go by a bit faster. We aren't big on fancy meetings. We usually just talk over what needs to be fixed or built while standing around the machines. It’s a simple life, really. We just focus on getting the specs right and making sure the parts we send out actually work.
