We’re up on the 16th floor of the Panchratna building. Being at number 1602 gives us a bit of a view, though we’re usually too busy looking at diamonds to notice. Opera House is a busy area, and this building is right in the middle of it all. Savani Diamonds is a small operation. We have a few desks and some good lighting, which is the most important thing for us. The elevators in this building can be a real pain during the morning rush, so some of us try to get in early. It’s quieter then. We spend a lot of time grading stones and talking to people in the trade. It’s a lot of sitting and focusing. We don't really do the whole corporate thing. We’re just a bunch of people who know diamonds. Sometimes the office gets a bit messy with papers and loupes lying around. We try to keep it organized, but when things get busy, that goes out the window. We’ve been here long enough that we know most of the people on our floor. It feels like a little community. We have a small fridge in the corner for lunches and cold water. Nothing fancy. It’s just a place where we come to work and do our best with what’s in front of us. No big speeches or goals, just the daily grind. We like it that way because it keeps things honest.
