Our office is up on the 9th floor of the Embassy Center at Nariman Point. It’s office number 912 and 912A. Being at Nariman Point means we have a nice view, but we’re usually too busy to look out the window. SATISH INTERIORS PVT. LTD. has been around for a long time. We aren’t a new startup with bean bags and a ping pong table. Our space is filled with drawing boards, stacks of catalogs, and rows of files from old projects. We’ve worked on a lot of different interiors over the years, mostly in and around South Mumbai. Even though the address sounds fancy, the way we work is pretty straightforward. We spend our mornings talking to vendors and our afternoons visiting sites to make sure the walls are straight and the tiles are being laid correctly. It’s a lot of coordination. There are always small problems to solve, like a shipment that didn't arrive or a measurement that was slightly off. We don’t use a lot of corporate talk here. We just speak plainly about what can be done and what can’t. The team is a mix of older guys who have seen everything and some younger ones learning the ropes. It gets noisy in the office when everyone is on the phone at once. We just keep at it, day after day, because this is what we know how to do.
