Our office is in Kalyan East, tucked inside the Ramanuj C H S building. It is a residential society, so we are surrounded by families and everyday life. Saket College is right nearby, so there are always groups of students walking past on Chinch Pada Road. We are at C-14, and it is a pretty modest setup. Since we handle shipping, we spend a lot of time on the phone with the ports and the customs agents. Kalyan can get incredibly humid, so we usually have the windows closed and the AC running if it is working right. The office is a bit cramped with all the boxes of files we have to keep for the records. We do not have any fancy signs, just a small nameplate near the door. It is a quiet place to work mostly, except when the college lets out and the street gets loud. We have been in this part of Thane for a long time. The commute can be a bit of a struggle for some of us because of the train crowds, but we like the neighborhood. We usually go out for a quick vada pav in the afternoon when we need a break. It is not a high-pressure corporate environment. We just do our jobs, handle the shipping documents, and try to make sure everything gets where it needs to go on time. Sometimes we have to deal with delays at the dock, which can be frustrating, but that is just part of shipping.
