Up in Kandivali West, you’ll find the place for Sai Gajanan Mahtre. The address is 1428/26 in the Sai Prakash Society. It’s a residential-feeling area, so it doesn’t have that cold, industrial vibe you find in some other parts of Mumbai. The society has its own rhythm, with kids playing and people going about their daily chores. Our spot is just a part of that fabric. Inside, it’s mostly just shelves and a couple of chairs. We don’t really go for a professional look. It’s more about having a place to sit and get the paperwork sorted. The windows let in a decent amount of breeze if the weather is right. Kandivali can get quite hot, so we appreciate those days. Most of the people who come by are from around the neighborhood. It’s the kind of place where you know the guy at the corner shop by name. I spend a lot of time just organizing things or talking to folks who drop in. There’s no big sign or flashing lights. You just find the door and come in. It’s been our base for a good bit of time now. We don’t really change much around here because the current setup works for what we do. It’s a simple life, and the work keeps us busy enough without needing to make a big fuss about it. We just keep our heads down and get through the tasks.
