Living and working in Malad is something else. It is a big area but once you are here for a while, you start to know the corners and the shortcuts. I spend a lot of time with my camera, just trying to get things right. Malad is where I stay and where I do most of my work lately. It’s not like those big fancy studios you see in the movies with white walls and lights. It is more about just being out there and taking photos of real people and things. The streets are always crowded, which makes for interesting backgrounds I guess. Sometimes the light is good, sometimes it is terrible and you just have to deal with it. I carry my bags around and hope it doesn't rain too much on my gear. People in Malad are always in a rush, so you have to be quick with the shutter. I don’t have a giant office with a secretary or anything like that. It is just me, Sagar, doing the photography. I spend a lot of time sitting at my desk looking at screens after the sun goes down and everyone else is asleep. My neighbors probably wonder why I’m up so late with the blue lights on. It's just a lot of clicking and then a lot of looking at what I clicked during the day. Some days are slow and I just walk around the neighborhood. Other days I’m busy from morning until night. It’s just a simple life here.
