Our office is in Flat No 7 on the second floor of Nagin Mahal. It is an old building at 82, Veer Nariman Road, right in the Churchgate area of Mumbai. Being in such a historic part of the city is interesting, though the elevators in these old buildings can be a bit slow or moody sometimes. Most of us prefer taking the stairs when we're in a hurry. The office itself is where all the media work happens, with people constantly on the phone or typing away at their desks. It’s a bit of a maze of papers and old magazines in here. We spend our days coordinating stories and dealing with the logistical side of publishing. There is always a lot of coffee being drank and people talking over each other to get things done before the day ends. The view from the windows is just the busy street below, which is always full of people heading to the station. We’ve been here for a while and the walls are covered with bits and pieces from past projects. It isn’t a high-tech corporate hub, just a functional space where the team gets together to put out the next issue. We don’t have fancy furniture, just sturdy tables and chairs that have seen a lot of use over the years. It’s a lived-in space that feels more like a workshop than a typical office.
