Saffron Engineering Works

Our workshop is located at 3, G.M. Rd., right near the Meghraj Hotel. If you're coming from Pestom Sagar, we are directly opposite. At Saffron Engineering Works, it’s a pretty busy spot with a lot of trucks and noise from the road. Inside, it’s mostly metal scraps, machines, and the smell of oil. We do a lot of engineering work, mostly fixing parts or making things to order. It isn't the cleanest environment because of all the grinding and welding we do, but that’s just how an engineering shop is. The floor is usually covered in metal shavings by the end of the shift. We’ve got a few old machines that still run better than the new ones we bought recently. The heat from the welding can get intense in the afternoons, so we usually keep the big front doors wide open to get a breeze. Being near the hotel is handy because we go there for lunch sometimes. We don't have a fancy office or a secretary, just a small desk in the corner where we keep the bills and some old notebooks. Most of our tools are older than the guys using them. It’s a bit of a rough-and-ready setup but we get the jobs finished. People bring us broken stuff and we see if we can get it back together. We’ve been at this G.M. Rd. location for a long time and we don't plan on moving anywhere.
