S Abdul Rehman & Sons has been at 139 Nagdevi Abdul Rehman Street for a very long time. We are right opposite the Central Bank of India. If you know this street, you know how busy and packed it can get with all the hardware and tool shops. We are right in the thick of it. Our shop is old-fashioned, with shelves reaching all the way to the ceiling. It’s full of stuff we’ve collected and sold over the years. We don’t have a website with fancy graphics; we mostly just talk to people who walk in. It’s a family-run kind of thing, passed down through the years. Sometimes it’s hard to find exactly what a customer wants in the back, but we usually get there. The street is loud with carts and people shouting, but that’s just the atmosphere of Nagdevi. We aren't some modern showroom with air conditioning and bright lights. It’s a bit dusty and the floors are worn down from all the boots coming through. We focus on the hardware and making sure we have the parts people are looking for. We’ve seen the neighborhood change a lot, but our little spot across from the bank stays pretty much the same. We just keep opening the shutters every morning and helping whoever comes by. It is just our way of life in this part of town.
