Mankame Engravers

Our shop is in the Ruci Mehta Industrial Estate, specifically at number 7 C/B. We are up on the third floor. You have to walk up R S Nimkar Marg and find the right entrance near Jairajbai Lane. It’s in Grant Road East, which is a part of Mumbai that never really sleeps. The building is one of those old industrial structures with a lot of different businesses tucked away in every corner. Mankame Engravers is our little piece of it. It’s a bit noisy inside because of the machines, but we are used to it. We spend our days leaning over the benches, working on various engraving jobs. It takes a lot of focus and the light has to be just right. We have extra lamps everywhere. The space is a bit tight with all the equipment and materials, but we know where everything is. It’s not a corporate office. It’s a workshop. There is usually a bit of metal dust on the floor. We take our breaks and head down to the street for some tea or a quick bite to eat. The traffic on R S Nimkar Marg is always a mess, but that’s just life here. We’ve been doing this work for a long time and we don't see any reason to change how we do it. It’s a local business with a lot of history in this neighborhood. We keep the machines running and handle the daily grind.
