Rupam Impex

Rupam Impex is located in the Prasad Chambers building, specifically in room 1407. If you know the Opera House area in Mumbai, you know it’s the heart of the diamond trade. Charni Road station is close by, so that’s how most of us get to work every morning. The building is always crowded with people carrying small parcels and security guards everywhere. Our office is just one of many in this big tower. We deal with import and export stuff, mostly focused on the stone trade since that's what happens here. It’s a lot of sitting under bright lights and looking at small items or checking figures on a ledger. We’ve got a couple of old wooden desks and some chairs that have seen better days. The air conditioning works most of the time, which is a relief in the summer heat. We don't have a big sign or anything flashy outside. People who need us usually know exactly where 1407 is. We have been in this spot for quite some time now. Dealing with the diamond market means you see a lot of the same faces every day in the hallways. We just do our business, handle the shipping details, and head home when the sun goes down. It’s a steady rhythm. The elevators in Prasad Chambers are always a wait, but we've gotten used to it after all these years of working here.
