Roll-Tech

Roll-Tech is situated over at Plot No.6 in Safed Pool, right along the Andheri-Kurla Road. If you know that area, you know how the traffic is—always a line of trucks and rickshaws making a racket outside. We’ve been at this spot for quite some time, and it feels like the dust from the road just becomes part of the scenery. The workshop itself is a busy place. We do a lot of work with rollers and technical parts, so there’s always grease on someone’s hands. It’s not the kind of place where you’d want to wear a nice shirt. The layout is a bit cramped because we have to fit the machinery and the raw materials all in one space, but we make it work. Usually, we start the day by checking what came in the night before and seeing what needs to be shipped out. The heat in Mumbai gets pretty intense in the afternoons, especially under the tin roof, but we have a few fans that keep the air moving. We don't spend much time on fancy meetings or anything. Most talk happens over a quick cup of chai standing near the loading bay. It’s a practical environment. We deal with the day-to-day grind, handling the orders as they come and making sure the rollers are finished to the right specs before they leave the gate. It is hard work, but it is what we know.
