Our office is in the Mayfair Building, which is located at 79 Veer Nariman Road in Church Gate. It is a very old part of Mumbai with a lot of character. R.L. Agencies has been around for quite some time, and we have seen the city change quite a bit from our windows. Being in Church Gate means we are right in the middle of everything. The building has those high ceilings and heavy doors that you don't see in newer places. We mostly deal with paperwork and various agency tasks. The office is a bit crowded with old files and cabinets that have been there since before I started. We have a few windows that look out onto the street, so we see the crowds heading to the station every evening. It’s a busy atmosphere but inside the office, we try to keep things calm. We don't have any modern art or fancy lighting. Just some old fans and desks that have seen better days. We spend a lot of time on the telephone talking to clients or coordinating with other offices. Lunch is usually a quick affair, sometimes from a dabba or a local stall. It’s a good place to work if you like the feel of an old-school business. We just do our bit and go home when the work is finished, and that’s how it goes.
