Working out of Govardhan at 65/C-6 on Gen AKV Marg in Goregaon East is quite something. Mumbai is always moving and we are right in the middle of it. The office is in the NNP II area. We do a lot of shipping and forwarding work here. It involves a lot of sitting at desks and staring at forms. We have to make sure the cargo gets to the port or the warehouse on time. Goregaon can get very crowded, especially during the monsoon when the roads turn into rivers. We just do our bit to keep the goods flowing. It is not glamorous work by any means. There are plenty of files stacked up and the coffee is usually cold by the time we get to drink it. We talk to people at the docks and try to sort out the logistics of moving containers. It is about being patient when things get delayed. We have been around this part of Mumbai for a bit, so we know the local shortcuts. The building is just a normal place where people work hard. No one wears fancy suits here; we just wear what is comfortable for a long day. We try to be honest about how long things will take. Shipping is unpredictable, but we just take it one day at a time and do the best we can with the trucks and the paperwork. It is just a regular office doing regular shipping work.
