Remco Card Mfg. Co.

Over at 171 Dadisheth Agairy Lane, inside the Pratap Building, is where Remco Card Mfg. Co. does its thing. The lane is one of those narrow ones that feels like it’s been there forever, and the building has a lot of character, to put it nicely. Making cards involves a lot of paper and ink, so the place usually smells a bit like a printing press. We have some old machines that make a lot of noise when they are running, but they get the job done. It’s a bit of a tight squeeze inside with all the stacks of cardstock piled up against the walls and sometimes it feels like we are running out of room. We don't have a lot of modern office furniture; most of it is just old wooden desks and chairs that have been around as long as the business has. We don't bother with fancy displays. People who know us just come straight to the door. Most days are spent cutting, printing, and packing things up. It’s a bit messy with paper scraps on the floor, but that is just the nature of the work. We aren't trying to impress anyone with a sleek office. We just want to make sure the cards are printed right and ready on time. It is a small, busy shop in a crowded part of town, and we’re fine with that. We just do the work we have always done.
