Our local office is at 2, Rehana Chawl. It is located behind the Kalina Church in Shastri Nagar, Santacruz East. This part of Mumbai is always moving and can get quite noisy. Reliance Gas Transportation Infrastructure Ltd. uses this small spot to manage the local work on the ground. The chawl itself is a lively place, usually full of families and kids playing in the lanes. Our room inside is very simple. We have a few maps pinned to the walls and some plastic chairs for when we need to sit. It gets quite hot in the afternoons, so we usually keep the door open to get some air. We mostly deal with the details for the gas infrastructure around this specific area. Most of the time, the staff is out in the field checking on the pipes or talking to the laborers. The office is mainly a place to file a few reports and have a quick cup of tea between tasks. It can be a bit hard for people to find us if they are not familiar with the church landmark nearby. We have been in this neighborhood for a while now, so the local people know us. We do not have a receptionist or a fancy lobby. If you need something, you just knock on the door and ask. The paperwork is kept in some old folders in a corner. It is a basic setup, nothing like the big glass buildings.
