Our place is located in the MIDC area of Andheri East, right near Seepz Gate Number 1. If you know Mumbai, you know how crowded and busy this part of town gets. We are over at F-20 on Central Road, sharing space in the building there. It’s a machine tool business, so there is usually a lot of noise and parts lying around. We spend most of our time looking at specs and dealing with the machinery. It’s not the cleanest job in the world, your hands usually end up with some grease on them by lunchtime. The office is right there with the workshop because we need to see what is happening. We’ve been here for a while, watching the traffic at the Seepz gate grow every year. It’s a good spot for us though because most of the people we deal with are also in the industrial estate. We do not have a fancy reception or anything like that. You just walk in and talk to whoever is free. Most of the guys have been here for years and they know the tools inside out. We just try to get the orders right and send them out on time, even when the Mumbai rains try to stop everything. It’s a lot of practical work, not much sitting around. We like being in the middle of all the action in Andheri. It is loud and fast but it keeps us on our toes.
