Rays Lighting

Rays Lighting is located at 427/7 Odhav Bhavan, right on JSS Road in the Chira Bazar area. If you know this part of town, you know it’s always crowded and full of life. Our shop is tucked into the building, and we’ve been here long enough that the walls could probably tell a few stories. We don't have a big glass storefront or a lot of space, so we have to be very organized with how we stack our boxes of lights and components. Chira Bazar is a hub for this kind of stuff, so we have a lot of regular walk-ins and people we’ve known for years. We aren't interested in being a big chain; we just like running our local spot. The day is usually spent helping people figure out what kind of light they need for their homes or shops. It’s mostly simple talk—explaining what fits where and what will last. We drink a lot of chai throughout the day and keep the fans running to beat the Mumbai heat. We don't have a formal mission statement or anything like that. Our goal is just to stay open, serve the customers who come through the door, and make sure we have enough stock on the shelves. It’s a busy, cramped, and noisy way to work, but it’s what we know and we are quite content with it. If you walk past Odhav Bhavan, you can’t miss us.
