Ravi Exports

Being in Mazgaon means you’re always around people. Our office is at 220, Ajay Industrial Estate, and it’s a bit of a maze if you aren’t used to it. B-Anjirwadi is one of those spots where you really have to know where you’re going. Dr. Mascarenhas Road is constantly busy with tempos and people carrying loads. Ravi Exports is just a small part of this big, loud building. We spend most of our time dealing with boxes. There’s always tape humming and the sound of markers on cardboard. It gets cramped, especially when a big shipment is coming in or going out to the P.O. Box 6239 address we use. The lift in Ajay Industrial Estate is one of those old ones that shakes a little, so some of us just take the stairs to the second floor. It’s better for the legs anyway. We’ve got a couple of desks, a lot of filing cabinets, and always too much tea. Mazgaon has that salty air from the docks nearby, and you can smell it on the humid days. We aren't trying to be anything special. We just handle the exports and try not to lose any paperwork in the piles on the desks. It’s a lot of back-and-forth with the shipping agents. Some days are slow, but most are just a rush to beat the clock.
